Filming Day -
On the day of filming I had people along to help me carry equipment and set things up. They also took some photos and short videos of me whilst I was filming.
We all met at my house in order to get the internal house shots done. We did this quickly in order to get outside and on location before it got dark.
We walked to our main location which took about 20 minutes.
On the way we walked through the alleyway in order to get the shots going down there and shot some extra shots down a small footpath we took. This meant there would be extra footage if needed during the editing process.
Once we had arrived at our main location we waited for other walkers to clear before starting to film. In this time we set up the camera and tried out different angles. Once the area was clear of other people we began filming. We played the song alongside the recording so that the actor knew when the lines were coming. It also meant it would be easier during the editing stage to match up the shots with the music. Overall, we spent about 1 hour getting at the main location.
In these two GIF's you can see me filming Jack our main character and singer. These shots were not originally planned in the storyboard however, when we were walking home from the location we found this tunnel and I decided to get some extra shots.
In this picture I was trying to capture some photos of Jack that could potential be used in our ancillary tasks as well as some practice footage of him with the lighter.
Overall, the filming day went well. I managed to get all the shots I needed from these particular locations and some extra shots to fill in any gaps during the editing process. The weather was good which helped with the lighting in the shots and made the quality of the footage better. There were some issues with the filming as the main character who was supposed to be lip-syncing had a sore throat so didn't sing the song full out. This may mean that during the editing process the lip-syncing looks unrealistic and out of sync. To overcome this issue we can re-shoot these shots when the actor is feeling better in order to get the best quality of lip-syncing possible.
