Initial Ideas Magazine -

Initial Ideas for Magazine Advertisement -

1)

This is our first initial idea for our magazine advertisement. The band name/logo is featured at the top in big black writing. This allows it to be clearly seen and audiences are more likely to notice it and remember it. The title of the song is featured in the middle of the page as it means more attention is drawn to it. The song name is written in bold, black writing so that it stands out clearly against the white background making it catch people's eye and read it. The lemons and strawberries surrounding the title are a reference to the song title. The lemon being the the Lemon part of Lemonade and the strawberry is associated with the colour Pink as it is often used to make pink lemonade pink. The border around the edge of the page creates a retro feel which is a common convention of the indie genre. At the bottom of the page there is a release date. This is written in black text which stands out against the yellow making it clear and easy to read. Along either side of the bottom of the page is the band website and the record label website. This allows the audience to be able to find out more information about either of these.

2)

This is our second initial idea for our magazine advertisement. The main colour of this poster is pink, this is a reference to the title of the song. The band name is featured at the top of the poster so that audiences can immediately associate the poster with the band. Images are used to spell out the title of the song making it more exciting and more likely to stick in peoples minds. It also uses the same images as on the digipak which makes it easy for audiences to recognise when they go to buy the album. The P stands for Pink, the lemon stands for the lemon part of the word Lemonade and the green plus sign stands for aid being the 'ade' part of the word Lemonade. Underneath this is a silhouette of the band members. This makes a connection between the band members and the audience and creates a sense of mystery. At the bottom of the page is the release date of the new song. This not only informs the audience about when the song is released but creates excitement within the fanbase. In the bottom corners of the page there is the band website and the record label website, this allows the audience to be able to find out more information about the release of the music of other things to do with either the band or the record label.

3)

This is our third idea for our initial ideas of the magazine advertisement. This time we decided to put the band name/logo further down the page in order to draw attention to the song name. The song name is written around the image of a lemon. The lemon is associated with the song title helping to create a link between the text and the visuals. The song name is written in bold, black writing which helps it to stand out against the white background. The border around the edge helps to create a retro feel often associated with the indie genre. The colour of it is pink which is also a reference to the song title. At the bottom of the page there is the release date which allows the audience to know when to expect the song. This creates excitement and anticipation within the fanbase. In the bottom corners of the page there is the band website and the record label website. These are useful as they allow the audience to research the band and record label as much as they want.

4)

This is our fourth and final initial idea for our magazine advertisement. The band name/logo is featured at the top creating a sense of brand identity and allowing the audience to easily know who the poster belongs to. The giant image of the lemon refers to the name of the song 'Pink Lemonade'. The name of the song is written inside the lemon in big, black and bold text. This allows it to easily stand out on the yellow background and be clearly read. The background is pink referring to the 'Pink' of the song title 'Pink Lemonade'. The bottom of the page is where the information about the release date can be found. At the top of this bottom section the band website and record label website are shown. This allows the audience to look up the band and record label and find out more information about each of them.
