Final Idea Digipak

Final Idea for Digipak -

This is our final idea for our digipak. We took inspiration from all 4 of our initial ideas and picked the things we liked and thought worked best to apply to our final idea. We chose to make the song name the album name, this is a common theme in the indie genre and many bands use the name of the main song as the album title. For Example, the first song on the album Babel by Mumford and Sons is also called Babel.

Front Cover - The top of our front cover features the band name/logo. This is a vital piece of information to have on the digipak as it allows the band to get the credit for their work but also allows the audience to know who they are listening to. Underneath the title is the name of the song. We chose to write the name of the song in images instead of words to create a more visual and exciting digipak. The 'P' is coloured in pink and stands for the 'Pink' part of the title. The lemon stands for the 'Lemon' part of the word 'Lemonade' of the title and the green plus symbol represents aid, this stands for the 'ade' part of the word 'Lemonade' in the title. Underneath this, there is a cartoon image of the band members. This idea allows the band to be featured on the album in a fun and creative way as well as creating a sense of brand identity.

Side Panel - The side panel is pretty minimalistic. It uses a darker pink than the front cover which is used to represent the word pink from the title of the song. The text is written in large, blood writing so that it stands out and can be read clearly. This is important as CD's are often stacked in a way so that only the side panel can be seen, so it must be easy to tell the song from just the side panel. The images of the lemons on either end of this panel acts as a visual for the title of the song 'Pink Lemonade'.

Back Cover - We again used ideas from both initial idea number 3 and 4 to create an effective back cover. The background colour is the same colour pink as the front cover. This not only create continuity between the digipak but also acts as a representation of the word pink in the song title. At the top of the page the title is displayed in the form of images as shown on the front. Underneath this the band website and record label website are featured. This means that the audience can easily access more information about either of these. Lastly, the back of the cartoon band members as shown. This again creates continuity between the digipak and is a fun and creative idea.
