Lyric Analysis -

Wombats frontman Matthew Murphy told NME: "I need to keep moving to find inspiration. I went to Barcelona for a week and I'd just sit in a square and get drunk - the song Pink Lemonade is about that."

The song is based on the fact that singer Matthew Murphy upped and left his girlfriend to find new inspiration. This however left him feeling paranoid that she was back at home sleeping with other men.

Synaesthesia -

Synaesthesia is a curious condition where there is a mingling of the senses due to cross-wiring in the brain. Hearing a musical note for example might cause a person with synesthesia to see a particular colour; C is red, F sharp is blue. (From youramazingbrain.org)

After listening to this song and thinking deeper than the lyrics, I would associate more dull and subtle colours with the song as it has a fairly slow tempo. There are some aspects of the song that make me think of cold winter nights as it is has quite a depressing tone to it. However, the pace picks up throughout the song and which counteracts the lyrics. Pink lemonade is often associated with picnics and summer.
