Analysis of Chosen Artist -


The Wombats formed in 2003 and are an English indie/rock band. The band met at university in Liverpool where they formed the band. The band members consists of lead singer and guitarist Matthew Murphy, drummer Dan Haggis and Bass Guitarist Tord Ă˜verland Knudsen. The bands genres consist of indie rock and indie pop as well as some post-punk. 



The band is signed with 14th Floor Records in the U.K. and Bright Antenna in the U.S. They are currently under the management of SB Management, a music management and promotion company based in London. 





Their first album 'Girls, Boys and Marsupials' was released in 2006 in Japan only. The following year they released their debut studio album 'A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation' and in 2011 the band released their second album 'This Modern Glitch'. Their most recent album 'Glitterbug' was released in mid-2015 which includes our chosen song 'Pink Lemonade'.



The Wombats were nominated for three NME awards in 2008. They were nominated for Best New Band, Best Track for 'Let's Dance to Joy Division' and Best Dancefloor Filler for 'Let's Dance to Joy Division', which they won.
