Props -
I will be using props in order to create an effective looking music video and help the audience to fully understand the music video and make connections between the video and the lyrics.
Guitar -
I will be using two guitars for the shots with the band. It will help to create the sense that the band are actually playing the song and make the music video more convincing. I chose to use guitars as these are a common prop in the indie genre.
Drums -
One of the band members will be playing the drums. This will benefit the music video as in my chosen band 'The Wombats' there is a drummer, so having a drummer in the music video will make it more realistic and convincing. Drums are also a common prop in indie genre music videos.
Microphone -
There will be one or two microphones for the band members to use. This will make it seem as if they are actually singing and give a more professional and realistic look to the music video. In almost all music videos that contain lip syncing, the singers have microphones.
Pink Lemonade -
I will use Pink Lemonade to represent the love of the boy and girl in the film. I chose to use this as the name of the song is pink lemonade. Pink Lemonade is an artificially coloured and made from lemon juice, sugar and water.
Glasses -
I will need at least four glasses to hold the pink lemonade in. I might need some spare glasses as the last shot require a glass to be smashed and this could take a few shots to get it right.
Straws -
I will need straws to put in the glasses of pink lemonade to create an authentic vintage look. The straws will be red and white stripe as these are associated with vintage picnics and drinks.
Lemons -
There will be lemons in a few of the shots. This is because the song is about Pink Lemonade which is made out of lemons. I will need a few lemons as in one shot the lemon has to be cut and squeezed and it might take a few shots to get it right.
Knife -
I will need a knife to cut the lemon. It will have to be a sharp knife so that it cuts through the lemon skin, so the actor will have to be careful and sensible when using it.
Glitter -
I will be using glitter to represent a party scene. I have chosen to use glitter as it is sparkly and bright and has similar connotations to a party scene. It will be pink and yellow coloured so that it ties in with the theme of then song.
Powder Paint -
I will be using pink and yellow powder paint to again create the sense of being at a party and being under the influence of drugs and alcohol. I chose these colours as the relate to the song title.
Chalk Dust -
I will be using chalk dust to represent the drugs and alcohol mentioned in the lyrics of the song "in the powder or in the gin". I have chosen to use this as it is a similar colour and consistency of many drugs so will look convincing.
